KTO has taken its first steps into the esports market by securing a sponsorship agreement with LATAM Defenders. The agreement highlights KTO’s plans to increase growth in the Peruvian market and to spread awareness of the highly competitive esports scene.
LATAM Defenders was created in September 2020 by Peruvian Youtuber Kendro. Kendro created the team with a clear ambition to promote esports in Peru and to provide opportunities to prospective players in the region. Now, with the help of like-minded partners in KTO, LATAM Defenders’ goal will be met.
José Ferrando, LATAM Defenders Sports manager, commented: “We are very proud to have KTO as our main sponsor, our organization is relatively new — but with a lot of experience behind it. Thanks to this new sponsorship we have managed to sign our first DOTA 2 team”
Pedro Benavides Venegas, General Manager of KTO Apuestas Peru SAC, also spoke highly of the agreement, saying: “Our new Sponsorship provides more awareness for the esports scene but also opens up the KTO brand to dedicated supporters and followers. We want to show how we’re the best place on the market for esports betting”.
Overall this sponsorship signifies a surplus of opportunities on the horizon for both parties.
The next step for LATAM Defenders is to climb the competitive ranks, currently focusing on winning the Movistar Liga Pro Gaming. LATAM Defenders has already announced future plans to host its own tournament, in which fans can participate. In addition, the team plans to expand its roster, branching further into other popular esports.
